Overview
About Me
My name is Maurice and I teach high school Spanish in south Houston. I live in an apartment with my girlfriend and my kitty.
I'm pretty outgoing, friendly, and love sharing stories and experiences. I'm into music, computers, Spanish, and video games.
I left a small town in Wisconsin (pop. 600) and realized there's a whole lot more world out there to discover. Now I'm set up in a new city and trying to feel things out.
Anything's possible.. It's just a matter of figuring it out!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used to do CS more frequently when I was living abroad in Santiago, Chile. Now that I have a job, a home, and income, I'm trying to open up to the idea of doing it again.
Met some cool people, and it'd be nice to help out some travelers if they need it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing and and then finally sledding down Volcán Villarrica in Pucón, Chile. You wouldn't believe it... It took us 25 minutes to reach the bottom from just sledding all the way down!
Teach, Learn, Share
I've got a pretty good technical background especially when it comes to computers. With studying Spanish and my desire to teach it, I can also help out with that.
I'm trying to explore video game design, and how it connects with learning.
I love sharing about my time in Chile. It was the biggest life-changing experience I've had, and has opened my eyes to the rest of the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We're a bit newer to the city, so we can share what we know, but it may be limited.
We have some really awesome food recommendations in the area! We'd gladly join you in eating at any of those places.
