Chi sono

Hi everyone, I´m a teacher of English as a foreign language from Spain. Who, even though doesn´t fluently speak many laguages, is a languages geek.
I´ve also worked as a cook for many years and done many other jdifferent jobs in my life such as photographer, evevent producer, hospital assistant...

For the last eight years, I´ve been running, along with my mother, a personal Aid Project to help those in real need from South India
(www.proartprojects.wordpress.com ),
Since meeting and living with the children from these deprived areas I also created another Educational Project with the aim and goal of connecting children around the world in order to give them the chance and opportunity of learning from each other before society would spoil them (make them think that they are different), and help them to respect one another since a very early age, no matter their differences.
While staying in Western countries I spend as much time as I can doing photo exhibitions and presentations to children in schools to introduce the situation in poor schools in India to them.

I love travelling and living in different places around the world because I think that travelling (way different from being a tourist) means learning. So therefore, the more you travel the more you learn and grow as a human being. And the more different someone/a place is from you/your own, the more you can learn from him/it.
So I would really like to keep on travelling for as long as I can while keeping my projects alive and getting to as many people as I can.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

As a traveller I find couchsurfing a great way to meeting people and having the chance of understanding the culture and ways of life of a place. I think it´s a lot better (and also cheaper, of course) than staying at other type of accomodations by your own, where you would probably get to see a more touristic point of view of wherever you are.

Interessi

I really like learning languages and cultures, not from books but from real people and real life. I also like spending time teaching or helping those willing to learn anything I could tell them about.

My Aid and Educational Projects are my passion, which often makes me break into tears of happiness and pride while developing them.
A beer, a friend and a good conversation is enough to make me feel happy, the more friends the happier. The stranger the place, the better.

I also like photography, i like spending time shooting both the moon and the sun the most. Music and playing basketball would also fit into this category, can´t live without any of them.

Musica, film e libri

My favourite music is... just music, any kind of music. Well, any but that easy-commercial-made for the masses music, if you like music you would know what I mean. I would say that i am addicted to music, and i really mean it, don´t know what life would be without it or without having access to it whenever i need it.
Every music has its moment and every moment has its music, from Punk Rock to Trip Hop, from Electronic to HipHop, from Reggae to Chill Out... i like and know a lot about all of them, depends on the mood I´m on.

When it comes to movies its a different thing, I like watching those that make me think or have a real instructive message, and they are not easy find lately, so i don´t spend much time on them, let´s say that i care about documentaries or travelling shows a lot more than about any Hollywood Blockbuster. The only thing I think about while watching any of these movies is how many millions were wasted on doing such stuff.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I don´t really think is an amazing thing because what I get from it is the really amazing thing. But, creating and running PROART PROJECTS, all by myself, www.proartprojects.wordpress.com after first visiting India and living with the children and people from the poorest and most remote rural areas in South India, is something that everyone tells me I should really be proud of. I am proud of it, of course, but what i get and learn from these people is so huge, that it looks like the job it takes to develope the projects is nothing compared to what I get in return.

It is something that often makes me cry when working on the videos or the photo exhibitions when it´s been a while since I´ve been there with them. But this are tears of happiness and joy. Has your job ever made you cry?

I would really like to be able to continue with these utopian ideas for the rest of my life, and I´m really working on it.

Insegna, impara, condividi

It´s not just that I´m a teacher, or that I´ve travelled a bit around the world, always trying to learn as much as I could from the people and places I´ve visited. I love sharing those experiences with everyone, not to tell them how much fun I had, but to tell them to do it themselves and with some previous tips and advices.

But meeting and living with these poor children in India, and at the same time, sharing their and attitude towards life despite their circumstances was a great lecture that really changed my life. And sharing it and showing it to others is something I´m trying to do ever since, no matter if they are adults, kids, friends or random people. I think I have a story to share that is worth listening to.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

No need of saying taht I would love to share with them all that has been mentioned before, but I have to say that when living in my own place, either in Spain or India, I always loved being a host and having my friends over for dinner or lunch and cook it myself rather than going out to any place ,which would be way more expensive. There´s always time for going out after a great meal.

I wolud love to share the knowledge and wisdom we both would have, language, culture, experience travelling...

But what I would like to share the most would be... a great time of fun.
