Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

when i travel, i have usually met people the ol-fashioned way, in the street, and ive surfed a few couches this way, but this site sure makes that easier

I've hosted a couple times and attended a lot of meetups around the world when I happen to be traveling through the area...

Travelwise ive been to maybe 42 states in the US, lived in Argentina, Peru, Thailand and India, travelled to italy (my fathers side is from there), Germany (my cousin is there), Belgium, Netherlands, England, France, Costa Rica, Cambodia, Burma and Vietnam. Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico.

Music, Movies, and Books

psssh - too many

books)i read alot, historical / political / environmental / philosophical / cultural / some fiction but no particular genre... i like reading in spanish as well

movies) cant remember movie names much now... but i love independent and foreign flicks, political documentaries, i can EVEN zone out to a meaningless hollywood blockbuster on occasion

music)jazz gypsy-swing funk r&b soul tango experimental latin afro-cuban folk indian hip-hop middle-eastern improvisational sometimes classical and opera... anything with virtuosity and originality... anything by my family and friends... recently heard peruvian criollo which is amazing

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

oh man, too many, i was victum to and fought a forest fire once, I spent a month cooking for victums of Hurricane Katrina in a non-hierarchal, organic relief kitchen started by some great friends, i got a joke out of stephen hawking once, i grew up around the most talented musicians, ask in person
