About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Surviving the return to London.
ABOUT ME
I love exploring the world, travelling, getting to know, cultures, ideas, thoughts.
I love meeting new people and I believe everyone is inspiring and has an amazing story to share.
I used to travel a lot by hitchhiking, staying with couchsurfers or with people I meet on the street - there is no better way to really get to know about the place than through its people; I have little interest in hostel tourism and visiting with a guidebook in hand, while staying isolated from the local reality.
Recently I had calmed down though, after some bad experiences hitchhiking, a backbone injury that doesnt let me carry a big backpack and after my parents turned 60 and they started looking a bit old and fragile and I don't feel like taking so many risks anymore, because it started to feel selfish.
I'm a big fan of urban sports: climbing roofs, trees, phoneboots, racing in shopping carts, tubesurfing.
I have always lived in the city and I can't imagine any other life but I love open spaces, mountains, forests. I feel most alive when I am in nature.
PHILOSOPHY
Personal action towards environmental and social justice and sustainability. I try to minimize negative impact my life has on other people and the environment, through my decisions, purchases and non-purchases. And hopefully one day through an amazing social enterprise.
Interests
people, cultures, photography, music, low budget travelling (backpacking, hitchhiking, camping), design, visual arts, books, European movies, sleeping, positive and creative activism (organized this creative activism project in 2011: http://streamforchange.tumblr.com)
everything enviro-, eco-, etc-, sustainable living, eating, working and playing, (I co-authored a book on sustainable work&life: http://www.greentoolbox.org/ (free ebook download)) climate change adaptation and mitigation (which made long distance travelling kind of more guilty).
