About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world, meet new people, make a difference.
ABOUT ME
I am 35, was born and brought in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. Big city with the greatest river of Russia Yenisey flowing in the middle. And yes, it is cold. But we have summers (about 30°).
After graduating worked as an international coordinator position with JET program in Japan for 5 years. It was a great experience. We need a week for me to tell you).
Right now I'm an interpreter in Moscow (including simultaneous) and also occasionally do some business matching for Russian and Japanese companies.
I love my job. You get to know stuff you would have totally missed out (not that you actually need it though:). I am a goddam expert on mushrooms, international accounting, die-casting and endoscopy. But just for the project before my memory erases it.
I am an open-minded person, love easy-going people and try to be one. I also love sports whatsoever. Climbing a mountain, riding a horse or skating? Call me in, I would love to try everything.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't worry, be happy! Plan your week and enjoy your day!
Just a couple of sayings I like.
We will have a plenty of time to sleep in the coffin. So do the stuff on the go, you don't have 300 years ahead of you to slack them off;)
"Save yourself and thousands around you will be saved". I don't like to impose things on people and respect my own freedom as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had some amazing experience as a guest in North America, Italy, Russia, Turkey. Hosted a couple of people at my couch in Japan
as well.
Interests
Used to do Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Have been to 2 tournaments so far. Took silver once and got DQ-ed at the other for a quite funny reason (save this one for a talk in person). I absolutely love the fighting spirit of BJJ, where sometimes you have to face a 100kg guy who can just smash you against the floor but you still have to look for a way out (you don't want 100kg of a guy upon you, do you?)
Another hobby of mine is languages. Accents and pronunciations are one of my little passions. I totally love to hear people speaking differently and copy them. I take a little pride in the fact I ran through the International pronunciation alphabet and was able to pronounce almost every sound in there). I already speak agglutinative (Japanese), fusional (Russian, English) language, so now it's time for a polysynthetic language. The basic idea is that they cram a wholesentenceintooneword.
Travelling. So far I have been to 2 thirds of Japanese prefectures and 17 countries (Italy was the most impressive one).
Snowboarding, but I never really jump. Skating and I recently tried ice-hockey. Pretty cool.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Ska-p (and any other ska-punk whatsoever), C2C, Three Days Grace, Russian rock, goodness it's a long list.
A couple of books which impressed me recently are Eric Berne (Games people play), Art of War, Dostoevsky, Sapolsky. I am more after books on specific topics rather than fiction.
Love funny theater plays (Satire Theater in Moscow is something else, we have a bunch of them).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Diving in Ishigaki island. The very fact I didn't panic the moment I went under water). Jumping off 8 meter cliff in Cyprus (woof).
Interpreting simultaneously for the first time in my life. You shake, your hands sweat and then you are in for an hour of listening in Russian and saying the same stuff in Japanese and vice versa. It's super stressful, yet rewarding.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Russian or Japanese, some basic grappling skills. It would be great to learn from people about languages, music, psychology or any sports.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, China, Georgia, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Macao, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Viet Nam
Countries I’ve Lived In
