I've been traveling around a bit, between my Belgian and Australian family, studying in Iceland and in Sweden, holidays in Thailand, Finland, Greece, Morocco, Canada, and work in Poland and the US. Lots of time spent in Spain also, wonderful country...

I love the vibe of big busy cities where tiny shops hide between huge skyscrapers (like in Bangkok!) But I'm more of an outdoors person at heart. I like to travel light, be surrounded by vegetation or by water and waves, I love camping by a river and cooking over a campfire.

Talking of food... One of my favourite things! Especially Thai, Indian, and Spanish cuisine. I like to cook as much as I like to eat. Absolute favourite dish: ***Panang Curry***. I also make a killer chocolate cake.

Other than that, I love sailing small catamarans, kite-surfing, riding my bike down muddy slopes, jogging through forests, and generally any sport involving wind, water and being outside.

I'm currently a computer and systems engineer in the aerospace / space industry. Basically we develop prototypes and products, mainly for the European Space Agency. I'm looking for a change though, perhaps into something with more of a "human" dimension and related to some of today's growing problems: ecology, political turmoil, inequality, education, etc.

Música, películas y libros

Music: Electro, rock, electro-rock, drum 'n bass, classical music.

In classical I love Beethoven's piano and violin stuff (like the Kreutzer sonata), and Schubert's lieder made me want to learn German. I'm a big fan of the Romantic period with Liszt and Chopin. In the "moderns" Eric Satie's piano stuff is amazing. Never managed to enjoy anything more recent I'm afraid!

Also: Anything with Karin Dreijer, My Morning Jacket, Pink Floyd, Queen (Freddy is an angel), Jacques Brel, Covenant, Kate Bush, Georges Michael, and Lil' Xan and all those mumble-rappers because they're so hilariously terrible :-)

Movies: A bit of everything. Anything by Stanley Kubrick. Favourite movie: Blade Runner. Favourite funny movie: Life of Brian! (although the Spongebob movie comes really close)

Books: Just finished a collection of short stories by Doris Lessing. Absolutely loved how well she describes people's (inner) lives.
