About Me

My hobby is learning languages, so Couchsurfing gives me the opportunity to meet with people and practice languages...That brings back the fun of travelling.

PHILOSOPHY

It´s better to listen than to talk, but it´s not easy to keep the mouth shut!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing couches and hosting, that's how!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

...I have also been a host and a guest with hospitalityclub for many years...

Interests

Languages! I think that every language you can think in opens your mind to another part of the human experience, gives you a different perspective on our culture. Obviously, one will not have the same mindset as a person brought up in a different culture just by being able to understand the lingo, but it opens a possibility of an entirely different interaction with the people and their country.

Music, Movies, and Books

The book-cook recommends: Saki (short stories). I also like documentaries, science-fiction and whatever book/movie would make me laugh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

(1) I have made a 6-week trip from the East Coast to the West Cost of the US, and I wish I could do it again, there was so much to see and so little time! (2) Cross the Judean Desert on foot, from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea (the last part of it, going down the cliffs, was probably not the best idea safety-wise).

Teach, Learn, Share

I love talking with people, especially if this involves talking in a foreign language -- that's one way to get to know another cultural perspective. Without talking with people traveling loses most of its charm. It's a cliche here to say that 'my mind is open'... I wish I could say that in Erdos's sense...(http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,990598,00.html)
