About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To reach the light at the end of the tunnel and have a base

ABOUT ME

Well, I finished school and went to South Africa for a year to teach sports, I ended up working in an orphanage. I came back and studied sports science for three years. I finished and went back to South Africa to follow my love for the natural world as I didn't like teaching sports. I ended up working in the orphanage again and this is where I met Sibylle my girlfriend, we have now been together 5 years. Or relationship has been stretched between Liverpool (where I studied Zooloy degree) and Hamburg (where she has been studying medicine).

Our current situation is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I am just about to start a Masters in Biological phoography and Sibylle will be starting a more practical side of her studies (less exams). I plan to move to Germany after my Masters (1 year).

We enjoy many things and seem to have a knack at finding beautiful beaches with great sunsets. We have travelled a lot and share interests in sports and music. We like good food too :-). Sibylle is looking to learn French in the next months and I have to start painting (commissions) before my Masters' starts.

PHILOSOPHY

Light, tunnel, reaching for it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well at the moment we are just surfers we have not done it yet but we are looking desperately to start. The main reason we are starting now is because we have booked a flight from Stansted Airport and decided we would like to see Cambridge half an hour away. Our times coincide with a festival and we have nowhere to stay.

A friend of ours suggested CS. I had never heard about and we thought we would give it a go. We would like to see the world and meet new people and at some point when we finally have a place together offer our couch. In the meantime we would like to make friends in this unique way and be able to offer good chat whilst on the couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing, we heard about it from a friend of Sibylle's who travelled with her boy friend to Portugal, they loved it.

Interests

Between the two of us our interests covers pretty much everything. I am a Zoologist, an artist, a photographer, I love to learn about survival techniques and how to live of the land. I have one million projects in my head and research them all...I just never get them done...one day!

Sibylle has little time for hobbies with her studies, it is pretty full on. When she gets away from the books it is running first to get rid of the thought of the books. After this it is music, sewing and anything active, running, football ect. Flowers are becoming interesting to the both of us, as is growing stuff, we can't wait to have our own garden.

Music, Movies, and Books

Still have our jaw dropped at Bruno...funny and disturbing!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunsets...lots of them in cool places. The latest in Lewis, Scotland.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to learn drumming, djembe would be great. Apart from that anything really. Cooking would be good, learning how to use spices is a nice ambition. We can teach German and English, things about animals and cells. We know stuff about South Africa, art and photography. Your welcome to ask about injuries and illnesses...its all good :-)
