Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
helping to make travel affordable for anyone, especially if they want to see all this beautiful country has to offer
ABOUT ME
I'm a sister of four, daughter of two, friend of a few . I spent my entire childhood jumping from country to country, never knowing where I might end up, which has made me eager to continue feeding the travel-bug. I think typical traveling costs are overinflated and I hope to save both myself and other people money, while making some amazing memories and getting to know a new place in a way you can't do if you only stick to Lonely Planet guides. I love music, language, and animals (some might say I'm a little too attached to my cat.). I am a vegetarian, but I don't expect anyone else to be. I am currently living in my hometown, Saint John, NB, working for CBC New Brunswick and hanging at the beach in my spare time.
PHILOSOPHY
Why do I live my life? To be happy, I suppose. I aim to be fulfilled in whatever I'm doing, and to look back and have no regrets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I offer a clean, spacious apartment for travelers to rest their weary heads at during their endeavors. I interact with people and make new friends. I share experiences and love, and oftentimes a little too much beer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had numerous guests while I was living in Montreal, Hokkaido, Japan, Vancouver and then in Saint John, NB. All experiences have been positive and I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the community.
I've couch-surfed across Japan, and in Seoul, South Korea, and I met some great people through couch-surfing in Singapore, although I wasn't able to stay with anyone there. I've also visited Salt Lake City and chatted with some great hosts there.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I love all kinds of stuff. I recently got a record player, and I have been falling back in love with the classic folk records I got from my partner's father.
Movies: Labyrinth, Disney movies, documentaries, I'll watch pretty much anything.
Books: Norwegian Wood and Kafka on the Shore by Murakami, Anything by Bill Bryson, but especially a Short History of Nearly Anything, Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, and so so much more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in Seoul, we took a tour up to the DMZ, and were able to learn more about North and South Korean history, which has fascinated me for years. The actual experience of going to the border was terrifyingly still and silent. It was so intense knowing that everything could completely blow up in chaos at any moment, and that I was standing on the edge of one of the most terrifying, reclusive, crazy states in the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a couple of chords on the ukulele! I also have stories of my travels and an impressive library, which I love to share with people who are in town for a few days and have some reading they'd like to do.
I also can cook a mean vegetarian meal, so if you want to eat my food, I'd be happy to make it for you!
I'd love to suck slightly less at the guitar, and learn a bit of any languages you have to share.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer a couch in the living room (and an air mattress if there are many of you), a clean bathroom with a shower, and a couple adorable, loving, if slightly temperamental, cats. We also have a sweet, skittish greyhound who we love to death, and a bunch of books and an extensive board game collection (my partner and I are both super geeky).
