•On a spiritual journey, growing into self-love.
• studying English and Political sciences
• writer and tutor as a side job

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Cause I like to share I guess.
For me as a student being able to travel on a budget is an important means to see the world and soothe my wanderlust-ridden brain.
As a host, I can give back to this wonderful community which allowed me to travel to Japan back in the day.
I've not been really active the last few years due to severe mental health issues but I plan to travel more and host as much as possible.

Interests

I'm a big fan of music, rageing from metal to pop, from Drum and Base to classical music. The only thing I dislike from the bottom of my heart is German Schlager.
Nerdy:
I like video games, pen and paper, Star Wars, Star Trek
Art:
I like line art designs but won't shy away from any material. Tried clay and woodworking as well as Aquarell and oil painting but I always come back to my pencils.
Wanna do: Visit the National Art Gallery in London
Musicals:
always happy to sing along - my all-time favourite is Hamilton but happy to learn something new
Books:
all the Walter Moers books
The name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
Keen on Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and fairy tales - preferably the old gory ones
Classics:
Virginia Woolf and Mary Shelley are definitely in my top list with Shakespeare and Bernad Shawn

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Literally, everything that is not Schlager
preferred genres are Rock and Metal, Jazz, 80's and 90's music.
Movies:
I love the movies by Quentin Tarantino and the Wachowski-Sisters. Technical brilliance, as well as good writing, make a great movie. I'm also happy to discuss movies and making offs, how they create immersion and emotions for the viewer.
Apart from this, I have a neck for Musicals and light-hearted entertainment, feel-good movies.
My favorite musical is Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda so far but feel free to introduce me to something new.
Something which really contrasts my love for light-hearted feel-good movies is my love for politically or philosophically inspired movies such as Dunkirk, Interstellar, The Imitation Game, or Danish Girl.

Books:
My favorite books by far are the books by China Mieville.
Top rereads were:
Perdido Street Station, Kranken and King Rat.
I still need to read The City & The City and Iron Council
This is followed by the German author Walter Moers, who writes high phantasy books, which have interesting layers and perspectives.
I also really enjoyed books like Gender Trouble by Butler, What White People Do Not Want to Know but Need to Hear About Racism (free translation by me) by Alice Hasters.
Furthermore, I kinda like political and literary papers about populism and construction of gender and the others - I know I am a little nerdy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jumping - I really enjoy the rush of adrenalin it gives me.
Also, I love the random kindness moments while traveling, for example, having lunch with a french couple I meet on the train when traveling to the UK.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
German, Russian and Japanese cuisine
Free speaking and theatre technics
Mindfulness practices

Learn:
Eager to learn what you have to teach - as long as it is not math

Share:
A very flat and dark sense of humour
A good story or two
A meal - cooking and dining
A hug - I heard I give good hugs

What I Can Share with Hosts

My room, which is in a shared flat of 5, a great kitchen, and a place from which you can venture around the black forest as well as discover Freiburg.
When you stay with me during the exam phase I might be busy most of the time but if you stay with me during the semester I can offer to show you around Freiburg, have dinner with us if you like to (in that case you are expected to participate in the general cost of living during your stay) and be part of our very close WG life.
Furthermore, I can offer some hiking tips around Freiburg in case you love hiking.
