Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live joyfully, lovingly, responsibly, and gently.
ABOUT ME
I'm interested in living, in nature, in people living in harmony with nature. I'm fascinated by strength and independence and searching for my own. I like to watch things grow. I like to hear silence and music. I love movement and meditation-- yoga, backpacking, hiking, scrambling, biking, dancing-- and contemplation, poetry, beauty. I love breathing. I love peace. I'd like to find more of it, and make more of it.
PHILOSOPHY
Why do I live my life? I'm still trying to figure that out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted couchsurfers only once, but I've couchsurfed a bit through CS and independently.
Interests
Music--singing, writing, playing and listening-- language, climbing on the roof, nature, perception and creativity. Backpacking, hiking, bicycles. Clean and sustainable living. Laughing, enjoying idleness, playing with words. Food, cooking food, growing food--organic and biodynamic farming. Yoga, massage, meditation. Motorcycles, mountains.

Music, Movies, and Books
I haven't watched many recent films. I like movies with good soundtracks and beautiful cinematography and scripts like free-verse poetry or fairy tales, with heroes and heroines who inspire you, and quirky head-scratching films. Wes Anderson is in. Woody Allen is iffy. More specifically...Amelie, Harold & Maude, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Run Lola Run, He Died With A Falafel In His Hand.
I love to read--poetry, Rumi, e. e. cummings, Ginsberg, Shel Silverstein. Russian literature, Dostoevsky, Kharms, Erofeev, Goncharov, Bely. I like Jonathan Safran Foer, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Isabel Allende, Kurt Vonnegut and Hunter S. Thompson and Ken Kesey and Jack Kerouac. I read Lord of the Rings, and loved it, but only once. I like Elie Wiesel.
And Le Petit Prince, for comfort when I'm feeling down.
And Music! Singers with cracked voices. Cameo sitar appearances. Whatever we can make up on the spot. Seriously, anything from East African drum/dance music to Animal Collective.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you essential Russian phrases and how to plant garlic, how to cook vegetables, how to play the ukulele. I want to learn whatever you want to teach me. How to build a good campfire--I've never had much success there.
