About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To balance home and family life. I have two kids under 3 years old and 80 lb black lab. Spending time with family is one of the most important things in my life.

ABOUT ME

My Wife, Karelis, and I, Brett, went on an adventure around the world for 7 months! We are very honest, outgoing, and love to laugh. We enjoy museums, trying new foods, and site-seeing.

Karelis speaks and reads Spanish fluently. I only speak English, but have taken some Spanish classes.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short not to enjoy every minute of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to host as many people as I can and gain relationships with other CS users all over the world as well as building a solid CS community. So far, we have met some amazing people through CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Experiencing one day at a time. I have had lots of help already with suggestions of places to stay, routes, and hostels. Thanks to all the CS professionals. We have hosted a few people and stayed with a CSer in Recife, Brazil, Barcelona & Seville, Spain, Shanghai and Beijing, China, and Tokyo, Japan. All were wonderful.

Interests

I like to go to watch football (both American and European), baseball, or pretty much any other sport. I play tennis, golf, and as of late competitive axe throwing. I like to think that I know a fair amount of knowledge with wine and am a little bit of a foodie. Karelis loves chocolate! She is very easy-going and likes meeting new people. She reads more books in a week then I have in a year. I am more of a movie buff, especially sci-fi.

Music, Movies, and Books

Not a very big reader, but Catcher In The Rye probably would be one of my favorites. Any sci-fi movie. Karelis loves James Patterson books and the Twilight movies. Sourcecode and 5th Element are some of my favorites lately. The classic movies for me are Brazil and Soylent Green. MUST SEE if you haven't yet!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got a hole in one once! That was pretty amazing. We climbed Macchu Picchu in Peru, visited Stonehenge in England, Taj Mahal in India, gondola ride in Venice, climbed Acropolis in Greece, climbed the Great Wall of China, and Coliseum in Rome. We rode camels in the Israel desert, rode elephants and played with baby tigers in Thailand.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm no Philosopher, but love to philosiphize (yes, I made up that word). We can show others about our culture, beliefs, and what we want to get out of life. Traveling is a must for us and we will help people do this in any way possible....
