About Me

Im a 27yr old Backpacker,
I decided in late 2017 that i wanted to travel the world.
Skip to 2019 and i have left Australia to learn more about the world we live in.
I have made my living up until i started travelling by helping people in the areas of welfare -to-work. (helping people who are unemployed long or short-term into solid employment)
My adventure so far has been about seeing the world and the cultures within.
I love to chat with people and so far on my journey i have started many random conversations with people passing by or staying in the same accommodation.
I am extremely patient and love to understand people and their view of the world.
I dont party, but am happy to sit down and have a conversation over drinks

Im more likely to spend a night in then go out and come home making noise.
My entire working life has been in customer service and helping people so i am very switched on to making sure i am not upsetting hosts, neighbors, family of hosts or even pets.
If English is not your first language then i am more than happy to help you practice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing to meet new people while i travel.
I have a good friend i met who was couchsurfing in my hometown and when i came into my current situation they suggested i try it as a way to meet awesome new people and keep social contact (not be so lonely) while Solo travelling.
My girlfriend and I set out on this trip together and we have mutually decided that half-way in we would part ways.
Her heading back to Australia as she was not enjoying long-term travel as much as she did short-term holidays.
I am staying abroad for the full time planned, however my budget was planned around shared transport and accommodation costs which means i now have less money per day to live off if i want to see Europe and the UK as originally intended.
I mingle with people wherever i go and enjoy a quality conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music changes with the tides. I have previously owned and operated a mobile DJ business where i played for weddings, parties, commercial and private events. I am partial to chill-out and relaxing music.
Electronic chill-out would be a good explanation.

Movies - i am a fan of Sci Fi, Marvel, Star Wars, DC, Action, Comedy, Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, Jimmy Carr.

Books - Currently on a series of books which are Christian based, very human-behavioral intrigued, i enjoy learning about why and how people come to be "the person" the are.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The only thing i can think of for this section is based off my work history - due to the fact it was my job to answer this sort of question in an "interview scenario"
Within a year of starting my job in a regional area of Australia helping people on the Welfare system into finding sustainable employment, measured on the work lasting for at least 6 months, i went against the system i was being taught to use for all my clients.
I was supposed to run group appointments where the group sits in front of computers and they search and apply for a set number of jobs.
I detested this because the clients felt like they were just a number. So i started seeing every one of my 400+ clients individually. It ran me into the ground mentally like i had never had in my life and my time management skills went from 0 to 100 due to sheer necessity.
After 12 months i had personally made it to the Top 10 in the company Aus-wide. A system where regional employees were at a complete disadvantage due to their caseloads being 1/4 - 1/8th the size of city caseloads. and the leaderboard point system was built around total numbers of individuals put into work that stayed in their job for at least 6 months (the system stops tracking after 6 months, this doesnt mean they then quit their job or no longer had work, just to clarify)

Basically i used my disadvantage of my total clients to be my advantage,
Getting to know each person individually and understanding what their strengths and weaknesses were as well as what they really wanted to do for a job.
This meant that a higher percentage of my clients loved the job they got and had no reason to want to leave.

The "amazing thing" isnt getting to top 10 of the company. It was defying the "treat them like a number" system and personally changing these peoples lives so they never had to deal with another employment agency, even if they did want another job, they now knew how to find it on their own.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning about culture, peoples personal perspectives on any and all subjects.

My teaching ability is mainly in the areas of employment and sales as thats where my history lies. But i am also studying the history of christian theology and am willing to share any knowledge or answer any questions someone has about this. - But please know that if you are not interested i am not going to preach at you. I am quite happy keeping to myself on this topic, always happy to discuss and even chat about those hard subjects most avoid as that's what i am trying to learn about how to discuss and give a reasonable answer.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My travels so far will be my most fresh topic as its very current and my whole life right now.
I can share in Australian culture and travel within Australia.
I enjoy following a discussion as it progresses and sharing my opinions on topics as well as my previous experience in situations.
I love giving and receiving advice, on any subject matter. I am all about learning and am happy to share knowledge or skills i have learnt.
