About Me

Hello! My name is Brad Carpenter, but friends call me Soaring Eagle because I love inspiring others and living a life of positive adventures. I've skipped through Stuttgart, Germany, swam in the Dead Sea, assisted in leading in an Irish Catholic worship service in Belgium while being a United Methodist, and much more. The world is our stage, so let's enjoy all of it for its beauty.

I'm such a people loving extrovert that I've risked my health and safety protecting women and children from their abusive partners/parents and cared for toddlers for up to six months until they were able to return home. Two of these children I now consider like my own so I treat them as such, even from afar. Now I'm developing Promised LIFE trainings for adults and Promised Youth leadership trainings for children and youth.

We are blessed with new opportunities with every breath we breathe, so think positive, be healthy and live your Promised LIFE!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting and learning about new people and listening to their stories. We all have unique lives so everyone we meet is a book waiting to be enjoyed.

I also love traveling. My favorite time was traveling in Athens, Greece with other Americans and Canadians I never met.

Interests

My greatest interest is people, especially empowering others to live their Promised LIFE. We all go through turmoils, trial and great times throughout our lives. My passion in life is to support others in growing through the challenges.

When relaxing at home, I love contest reality shows, including The Voice, America's Got Talent, The Amazing Race and American Ninja Warrior. I also enjoy playing games in my phone and researching trivia or important information for a couple books I have been writing: "I Died 3 Times. I'm Happy! What's Your Excuse?" about my life; "The Complete Book of Diabetes" detailing types of Diabetes, causes, western medicine as well as natural supplements and "alternative medicines", which are sometimes better than western medicine; and "Controversial Christian Conversations," a discussion on the biblical passages and how they're interpreted for and against Controversial Christian topics, such as abortion, homosexuality, sex before marriage, etc. It's time our nation discusses these topics instead of "fighting"each other about them.

While socializing, I very much enjoy shooting pool and singing karaoke. I admit I'm not great at shooting pool but love it anyway. As for karaoke, I've been told I'm good, but I'll leave that up to you.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love nearly all styles of music as each genre has songs I find amazing. My favorite is Michael Jackson and Michael Buble.

For both books and movies, it must be suspenseful or real life to keep my attention. The last movie I saw was SPLIT. It was awesome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many friends have said my life is very amazing and inspirational. I was born a very unhealthy baby. Before I was 3 years old, I had already died or nearly died 3 times and basically lived in the hospital until I was 6. My first Christmas at home was at 6 years old. If that wasn't enough of a challenge, I was raised verbally, emotionally and physically abused. Nevertheless, I still graduated with a Master's in Divinity, only to turn around walking away from my ex fiance and being homeless for 6 years, including living on Seattle`s and Los Angeles`s Skid Rows (where the homeless, drug addicts, counterfeiters, etc live on the streets). Only then was I finally diagnosed with depression. Yet, by that time, I became "permanently disabled," which enabled me to find places to live as I survived in SSI.

Throughout those challenges, I kept a positive, optimistic attitude. I even performed stand up comedy in Hollywood. There are a few things I regret. However, without those experiences, I wouldn't be who I am today. Most importantly, I'm now developing Promised LIFE trainings for adults and Promised Youth International leadership and transformational programs for children and youth.

Through my experiences, I've learned each of us has stories that get to be heard and life challenges, which are life's learning lessons to help us grow stronger.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I love teaching. I've spent most of my life teaching children and youth. So, I can teach scholastics. I also can teach you different ways of how you perceived things. For example, everything you experience is neutral until you place your own meanings upon it. Your meanings come from memories of experiences you've had previously which have strengthened an original experience where you created your original story of that experience. I love teaching or training about life. To aid with this, I can teach about Ho`oponopono Zero Limits, a modern day version of the Hawaiian method of reconciliation and love.

Learning: I'm most interested in learning about people, and thus you. Who are you really? What are your passions? What drives you? Every person is an unwritten book masterfully written every day with every experienced. Please teach me about the author of your book as I teach you about the author of my book, me, who I grow to know and love more every day

Recently, I started getting very interested in essential oils, natural supplements, such as Chia seeds and Coconut Oil, etc. for both starting healthy and for curing illnesses.

Sharing: We will share amazing conversations getting too know each other, simply talking about life or nothing. Having a great conversation with a stranger can turn them into friends, some of whom become like family. However, it all starts with a conservation. We also share good times playing games, watching tv, socializing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Imagine going to bed with dirty dishes in the sink, a dirty floor, the kitchen unorganized, etc just knowing when you wake up, dishes will be washed, floor swept, house organized and possibly breakfast on the table.

During the evening as time permits, we have a lively conversation with humor, respect, etc truly learning who we are and what inspires us in this Promised LIFE.

Possibly a special hypnotherapy or hypnosis session the night before or the day of my leave.

All capped off with a wonderful night out on the town for dinner and entertainment.
