About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life as it comes.

ABOUT ME

I'm 58 years old and act like a kid. I'm always up for a new adventure. My friends kid around and call me Tony Robbins cause I talk them into doing crazy fun stuff like climbing Mt. Whitney, climbing Half Dome in Yosemite, doing a 200 mile relay, running the Grand Canyon from rim to rim to rim....in one day! I usually send out an email to all my friends with my latest idea and ask: Who's in? These adventures have to be "bucket list" worthy. Hence I call my adventures, Bucket List Productions.

My son Kyle lives with me and introduced me to the idea of Couchsurfing and I've loved every minute of it. We both love hosting interesting people and getting their different perspectives on life.

My girlfriend Stephanie is always over at my house so if you stay with us there's a good chance you'll meet her too!

PHILOSOPHY

I feel that we all have a responsibility to treat others as we would want to be treated. Granted some people need a good kick in the ass, I still think it's important to put oneself in the other person shoes. I believe that if you're good to me, you'll have a great friend you can depend on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We currently just host couchsurfers right now, almost all of whom are on their way to Yosemite or one of the other local national parks. We have been to Yosemite more times than we can count and can offer plenty of advice on what to do while you're there and how to make the most of your trip.

I can see myself surfing on other's couches when I go to do marathons in far-flung and exciting places, Kyle wants to go just about everywhere so he'll probably be the most active surfer out of the two of us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've been hosting couchsurfers for off and on for two years now. We've had a lot of interesting people from every corner of the globe and some from just a few hours away. We just love to meet interesting people and make them feel welcome in Fresno and thought this would be a great way to meet new friends and save some money on beer.

We've never surfed anywhere yet but imagine it would be a lot of fun.

Interests

Cycling, Camping, Skiing, Running, Reading, Hunting, Fishing. Love Forty Niner's and the S.F. Giants, used to work for them as a kid. And anything that has to do with under-privileged children's issues.
I totally enjoy time with my friends, some of whom are very new and some childhood friends. I consider them to be like my retirement 401(k), we all need a good friend to laugh with.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: All of it. Because I have no musical talent, I like it all.
Movies: I cant stay awake through the boring features so I don't waste my money on movies. But I love Seinfeld, Modern Family and Westerns.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have the two most awesome kids who are wonderful adults despite their dad.
Climbed the highest peak in the continental United States, Mt. Whitney elevation 14,505 ft.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a certified trainer through the Road Racers Club of America, I would love to help anyone who has ever had a dream of someday running a 5-K, 10-K, Half or full marathon. I also love the outdoors. I have backpacked, hunted and ran up and down The Sierra Nevada mountains in California including The Pacific Crest Trail. I can guide any would be adventurers on many of these mountain trails.
