About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To give some piece of myself to every place I visit and person I encounter.

ABOUT ME

I try to go to Europe once a year, ideally experiencing a new place each time.

I cooking, learning new dishes and sharing what I know.

I am a theatre artist and composer. I love to trade songs with people, no matter the style. http://andthecrowdgoeswild.bandcamp.com

A person doesn't have to know me long to learn about my sweet tooth. I actually have a blog dedicated the subject of desserts, originally intended to be a forum for people to exchange the best places for dessert in their hometown. http://icecreamuscream.blogspot.com

PHILOSOPHY

Positive impact.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After living in Seattle, I took I some time off before I made a new city my home. I took some time to travel and volunteer. I was introduced to CS by a friend when she found out I was going to Europe. It was amazing!

I'm living in a new place with new roommates. After I settle in, I'll discuss with them the potentiality of us being Couchsurfing hosts.

That's why CS is so great! I have the opportunity to meet people of other cultures, not just sleep on their couch or have them sleep on mine!

FAVORITE COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I attended a couchsurfer tiramisu competition in northern Italy near Padova. Still dream about it!

In Italy cooked for Matteo and Giorgio a dish we have in America called Chicken Parmesan. They enjoyed tasting a dish that Americans call Italian, but is very much not!

Hanging out with Adam Biscuits in Rome and Chicago, in addition to staying with him in Berlin.

Interests

I like traveling, obviously, but I like to see more than the touristy stuff. I LIKE MEETING PEOPLE! I like to walk the streets, get lost and find my way again. I like to have some ideas of what I'm doing and a lot of unknowns to discover as I go.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Rumble Fish, Good Will Hunting and Adaptation are some of my favs.

Music: From Helio Sequence to Kanye West to Ministry to Screeching Weasel to Rocky Votolato to Elliott Smith to Beck to Stanley Jordan to Avail to Neko Case.

Books: The two best books that I've discovered have been Dave Eggers' You Shall Know Our Velocity! and Ned Vizzini's It's Kind of a Funny Story.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the greatest things I have ever done was to help with the relief effort in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. They still need help ten years later and I hope to return a third time!

Teach, Learn, Share

When traveling internationally, I like learning how to cook regional dishes and HELP with the cooking! (I got a GREAT family recipe for lasagna while in Italy and want to add to my collection!)

When traveling domestically, I like sharing travel stories. My favorite part of traveling is eating, so I'll be looking for the best places to eat and would love to share a meal at one of those places to chat and get to know you.

I also enjoy sharing my music, whether on guitar or giving you an mp3.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to cook my hosts a meal or take them out to dinner. If they have a guitar lying around, I can treat them to some tunes.

Countries I’ve Visited
