About Me

Two truths and a lie :

1. I'm obsessed with watching sports.

2. I used to be a bartender at a laundromat.

3. I'm the CEO of a Forbes 30 Under 30 startup.

Interests

The greatest pleasure in my life comes from cooking and trying new food. Currently eating South Asian food more meals than not, with a focus on Pakistani cuisine. You might laugh when I say I make an awesome goat biryani, but I have awards to prove it.

I also enjoy brewing beer, but my current apartment isn't the best venue, so I've temporarily given away most of my equipment (except the propane burner for crawfish, duh)

Music, Movies, and Books

The current rotation is M83, The Grateful Dead, Morning Teleportation, Modest Mouse, and Radiohead. You can usually find me on weekends at a local show, or drunkenly banging out keys on someone's basement piano.

My favorite books tend to be from Duane Swierczynski, Don Winslow, Kinky Friedman, Paul Auster, or Michael Crichton, though I also dig the usual Harry Potter and Hunger Games, as well as A Song of Ice and Fire.

I used to love Palahniuk, but he let me down twice in a row with Damned and Pygmy, so we're taking a break.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stopped saying "no" for an entire year:

Somewhere between living in three states, draining a three-story beer bong, joining a backroom Ordo Templi Orientis ritual, partying on Dan Deacon's tour bus, and nearly drowning on a midnight Mississippi swim...

It occurred to me how great the difference has been.

Teach, Learn, Share

For kicks, I once got certified as an electronics technician - so I can solder, troubleshoot, and build circuits, wire your home electronics, tell you about what's going on inside your computer.

My Japanese skills could use a buttload of work. Finding someone to swap letters and postcards with in Japanese would be awesome.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Belize, Canada, Cuba, Japan, Mexico
