About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travelling in New Zealand and South East Asia before commencing studies in environmental science this September following a very long gap year!

ABOUT ME
I'm an adventurous spirit looking to experience as much of life as I can before settling down to study for the next three years. Having spent nine months in New Zealand skiing, hiking and camping my way around both islands I'm making my way home via Indonesia and Vietnam with my partner in crime Grace Norris.

PHILOSOPHY

"the core of man's spirit comes from new experiences" - Henry David Thoreau.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am about to embark on a summer of adventures around Europe and hope couch-surfing will be a great way to improve my experience and meet new and exciting new people along the way. I have no hosting experience yet due to a lack of space but after I return from my travels this summer hopefully I will have a sofa free!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had an amazing experience couchsurfing around France and Spain three years ago and can't wait to share some stories and good times with some new people on my journey through Asia.

Interests

Travelling of course! I love adventure of any kind and am always willing to try something new. I love reading and will consume any literature I can get my hands on. I also love sport, anything from kayaking to rugby to bungee jumping... if its outdoors I will probably like to try it. I have a keen interest in sustainability and hope to expand on my knowledge during my travels

Music, Movies, and Books

Into the wild- this movie along with on the Road by jack Kerouac really inspired my itchy feet and helped to teach me that I can follow my own path in life.

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, quite simply one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read.

As for music, an impossible question with an answer that probably changes daily however Bob Dylan along with Simon and Garfunkel are some of my all time favourite artists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently embarked on a five day unguided kayaking trip down the Whanganui river in New Zealand negotiating numerous rapids, catching fish and camping in some of the most beautiful spots I've ever seen.
Over the last year and a half I have spent a lot of my time volunteering at the heartwood project, a local project which in addition to sustainably managing a local wood also runs courses on woodcraft and teaches people to get back in touch with nature. below is a link to their website.
