ABOUT ME

About me....well, I'm still in construction but I think I've done a decent job at collecting mostly good parts.

I'm an Ottawa native, but also lived in Winnipeg for a few years so I kind of consider myself part 'Pegger. Then, I lived in Iceland for 7 years and became a citizen, but returned to Ottawa in 2012. I've been a dancer, teacher, hospital support worker, barista, hotel receptionist and student of literature and cultural studies. I currently work as a bureau-brat for the federal government.
It would be a pleasure to meet any tourists coming to Canada's capital, maybe letting you couchsurf if it's feasible, and try my best to show you some of what Ottawa-Gatineau has to offer.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Actually, I've been pretty distant from Couchsurfing the past few years, but am oft thinking fondly of it, and nevertheless sending out positive messages about it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had nothing but luck here...met some wonderful people who unexpectedly opened not only their homes to me but their hearts as well.

I'm really interested in people and places and what people do with places. I love travel, language, communication, literature, music, dance, food, yoga. Various forms of silliness. I'm not against drinking immoderately every now and then either.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I climbed the Great Wall in China...first half with my company, on the way back I sneaked off to take an empty path with no-one on it, for some alone time, listening to some good tunes, skipping down the wall. Just beautiful.

Also, the Bosphorus. It's majestic. Period.

Ottawa is the capital of Canada. Not Toronto.
Iceland is actually pretty green. Greenland on the other hand...

I do have a futon in my living room, space on the floor for a sleeping bag (if you have one). The futon really isn't the most comfortable, but it'll do the trick. If I'm around and not scared of you it could be super fun to receive some guest and I could try and show you around at least a bit.
