About Me
Hello! I'm an easy going fellow from the united states, finally taking my trip around Europe. In the states I work as a physics instructor at a 2-year college in Chicago. That being said, I'm not your typical physicist! I also like to write fiction.
In my free time I like to bike, read, chat with strangers, and try local beer, food, did I say beer? My motto this trip is to say yes to any opportunities and locations that present themselves, and I haven't been disappointed!
I'm talkative, clean, and only ask for a tiny little corner to rest my eyes as I travel. Sorry I'm not verified, but $20 is precious when you're working off a fixed amount of money! Feel free to look at my facebook, and ask me any questions you'd like. I'm an open book.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My trip has largely focussed around where my friends are. That being said, I don't have any friends in Italy, but everyone tells me I ought to go, so I'm going! Hostels are rather expensive, I don't have an endless amount of money, and I prefer to spend time with locals doing things locals like as opposed to the touristy things.
I figure with couch surfing, I can save money and also meet new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
The best book I've read recently is 100 years of solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Holy mother of god, read it! It's one of the most original stories I've read. I also love Kurt Vonnegut.
As far as movies, anything done the P.T. Anderson or the Coen Brothers is gold.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hitch-hiked to the base of a volcano in Iceland, walked up it, and slept at the base of a glacier.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach physics! I love learning anything, especially local history.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Anything! You name it. Chores, Physics facts, music I like.
