Overview
About Me
Kick'n it since '96.
I am currently an English teacher here in Taiwan with the U.S. Fulbright Program. I live in Yilan City, and I would love to visit the other counties around the island. A little background about myself: I graduated from college in 2014 with a BA in Computer Information Systems. After I graduated from college, I took a trip to Japan with my best friend and discovered a passion for travel. I decided to apply for the Fulbright scholarship and see if teaching was 'my thing' or not. So far, teaching is pretty awesome. I am also enjoying the travel as added bonus. Overall, I would describe myself as a fairly reserved person. I do enjoy deeper chit-chat and discovering new things. As far as having an agenda on trips and such, I prefer to have a rough outline of activities and just kind of go with the flow. I am pretty relaxed and chill. I am a big food guy, but I'm not super daring with trying new foods. I tend to be pretty basic with the foods I enjoy. I love to play video games, listen to music, write, read, and watch videos in my spare time. I enjoy the outdoors and seeing the sights. I also enjoy drinking beer and having a good conversation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new friends and have some company in my exploration of this wonderful world. Also, a place to stay temporarily during travel is nice. I think Couchsurfing is neat because it allows you to get more of a grassroots kind of travel experience. You're staying 'with' someone, not at some fancy-schmancy hotel or resort. I like the idea of that because it's more authentic and true to what our world is like.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite genre of music is alternative rock, but I listen to a wide range of stuff.
In terms of movies, I'm not really picky. I do like dark fiction rather than light-hearted stuff. Old school Disney is okay with here and there though.
I am a big fan of nutritional books about fasting and weight loss. I also enjoy long-form articles on the web.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dressed up as Santa for my junior high's Christmas celebration and delivered candy to kiddos.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always up for some learning, teaching, etc.
I'm willing to help out with practicing/learning English in any way I can.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cleaning, Cooking, Language and Culture Exchange (from the USA and a native speaker of English), Good Company, and most anything else (pretty open to helping out wherever needed).
