About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet others that travel, enjoy exploring new places and meeting new people.

ABOUT ME

Grew up in Asia: Taiwan, China, and Japan. I am an ornithologist. I'm a good host, and a good guest, respectful, tolerant, open and supportive.

PHILOSOPHY

活到老学到老 - Never stop learning!

Music, Movies, and Books

"A Fortune-Teller Told Me: Earthbound Travels in the Far East" is one of my favorite books. I enjoy documentaries, especially about travel, nature, and cooking. I find music to be a great way to learn about a new culture, and a great way to learn a new language.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fantastic street performances in Australia, Animistic priests being possessed in Taiwan, delightful boat rides down the Yangtze, crane courtship in Hokkaido, shopping for supplies on border bazaars on the Silk Road, meeting old friends by chance in remote areas in the middle of nowhere.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope to learn from others. We can cook international cuisine, I can cook some Chinese dishes. I speak English, Chinese and Japanese, and basic Taiwanese and Uighur. I study Ornithology and Public Health connections. I like to share family histories, travel experiences and life lessons.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My travel experience, my cooking skills, my love for learning and teaching, and other things I hope will be of interest. I know a bit about infectious diseases. Not a doctor!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, Germany, Greece, India, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, Japan, Macao, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United States
