Overview
About Me
Pretty easygoing. learning more all the time, looking forward to living and loving and meeting and going. my friends are family.
I'm passionate about people, learning and expanding/enriching a person's world, the great outdoors, and the concept of story- share some of yours with me. I've been a fan of certain ska, punk, rocksteady, and rootsreggae music and ideas for a long time, and I'm also try to be sure life is meaningful, following after that transcendent and ineffable source of goodness, which has been conceptualized in many ways. For 8ish years I've been vagabonding all around different lands and waters, but settling into Japan again now.
PHILOSOPHY
Seeing our humanity as wrapped up in the humanity of others.
Making time for gratitude and appreciation.
Asking yourself about your values.
Being at peace (instead of afraid or anxious or controlling) with uncertainty, the unknown, and valuing the opportunities they bring.
"the business of the universe is to make a fool of you that you will know yourself for one, and so begin to be wise"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
i've had great experiences, and you can read about some of them in my CS References section. Or even the reasons under the "About Me" section. Or better yet, let's just get talking. I'd rather share naturally...
Interests
People, Trying new things, Nature (especially the sky, desert, and the water), thinking Grand Thoughts about Nothing, comparing people's irises to supernovae, the sound of smashing glass in a dumpster full of glass, using the knocker instead of the doorbell, drinking tea, serenading my cat with made up songs about her or not about her, punkrock pancakes and nacho hueves, geographantasizing, going to cemeteries on sunny days, cinnamon or ginger or vinegar, imagining what animals are thinking, watching a thunderstorm on a hot summer evening, fake translating tv or movies in a different language, smelling my own armpits at the end of the day, feeling the texture of paintings, a binge of documentaries and foreign films, looking up ridiculous conspiracy theories on the internet, fish balloons!, hearing about what really matters to other people or their life stories, created nonsense words, yo-yos tricked out like skateboards, getting naked in the water, myths and faerie tales, Sergio Leone westerns, the sound of a clock ticking, nomadic people groups, the smell of most garages, mangoes and plums and mangosteen and jackfruit, making baby dinosaur noises while peeing, adventuring, loving, exchange, helping one another, learning.
