About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Pants, it's all about the pants

ABOUT ME

I like words and music and politics and philosophy and avoiding conversation.

Okay, sometimes conversation is great, but usually I'm pretty quiet until I've had a few beers.

PHILOSOPHY

Be excellent to each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

People should be kinder to each other; I appreciate the goal of CouchSurfing.

I've had plenty of people stay on my couch in Melbourne, and I like to think that everybody deserves the chance to explore the world - since the cost of travel is one of the huge factors that prevents people from doing that, CouchSurfing offers a real, tangible helping hand to a lot of people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every person I've met through this website has been top notch. I'm not much of a storyteller though ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like to view things over life's long arc, and in that sense what's most interesting is the progression of things that I've seen - from growing up as a sports-mad kid with not even the slightest knowledge of a world outside my own backyard, to now having the chance to travel overseas, experience and enjoy cultures that I never even realised existed, read books from thousands of years ago that speak to the human experience as well as novels written a decade ago, and live in that same world - seeing things through my own eyes.

Forgive me if I sound either pretentious or naive, but to be honest I'm probably guilty of both: I'm still a little wide-eyed on my first trip outside of Australia.
