About Me
ABOUT ME
I am a 26-year old Canadian teacher currently living and working on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. I lived in Canada until I was 22-years old, at which point I moved to Australia for school.
PHILOSOPHY
It's easy to get caught up in the "stresses" of day to day life. Take time to do at least one thing just for yourself every single day!
Balance is always key.
Live and learn. If you're not making mistakes, you're not doing anything worthwhile.
Change the things you can change, don't worry about the things you can't and find the wisdom to know the difference between the two.
"Don't find fault, find a remedy - anybody can complain!" - Henry Ford
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At this point I'm unfortunately not in the position to host a couch for someone to stay on because I am travelling Australia and have no permanent home! However, I'm looking at getting my own place in the future and would love to be able to host surfers!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first couch surfing experience was a complete accident when it happened in New Zealand. Through a long series of events that began with a good deed (picking up a couple of travellers on a cold day in Dunedin), my friends and I ended up with a beautiful place to stay in Queenstown later that week. It showed me the amazing generosity and kindness that can be shared between strangers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I visited an orphanage in the Dominican Republic on a day trip when we were in the Caribbean for my best mate's wedding. We brought clothes, toys and food from the local supermarket for the orphanage. The most striking thing about the visit was how the children (not the staff) distributed everything evenly amongst the children. There was no greed and no hoarding. It was the most rewarding part of the entire vacation.
