About Me
Tena koutou! (Greetings to you all! - in New Zealand Maori)
I love being alive! Isn't it so good that we are alive right now?! I love those moments when I realise... hey! I'm alive! It usually happens when I have my hand out of the window on a long road-trip, or when someone does something kind, or when I see a waterfall or other natural wonder... This world is full of wonders and I think humans are the most marvellous part of this universe!
My family loves to give of our time and possessions, generously. I love this value of generosity, that my parents developed in me and my siblings. I have 3 younger brothers and one sister, together we are so relaxed and we love to have a laugh at our youngest brother's expense. For me, a successful day is spent with others, especially with new people. Exploring also gets me out of bed, meandering through the city streets and being led by the senses is overwhelming sometimes but so worth it.
After a year in Europe I would sometimes stop and catch a moment where I feel all the people who have lived, laughed, mourned, tripped, farted, gossiped and made memories on that very spot. So many stories written on that continent. Hearing stories made by locals filled me to overflowing. I love a good wine or café, combined with stories. HECTOR! I am alive!
I love the food thats cheap but full of flavours. Guessing flavours is fun but I always think that there is ginger. Love me some ginger tea. Love me some cheese. Love me some wine... oh... hic... I already said that... hic!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Adventuring into the streets of a new place is always fun with others and having someone tell me where the cheap places to go is a massive drawcard for me to signing up to Couchsurfing. Also when I return home I would like to show travellers where to go!
I realised after joining couchsurfers that I already live by the values and purposes of Couchsurfing without even knowing it. I've slept on many couches, I meet fascinating people on the street or on the bus, I pick up hitchhikers, I also offer the couch of my friends to sleep on to others. What's yours is mine and what's mine is yours!

Music, Movies, and Books
Spotify and Soundcloud playlists fill my day. Never know what I'm listening to but I know I love it when the shoes fly off and I am annoying the neighbours downstairs.
I have only just finished reading and watching all the Harry Potter series. I read a lot as a child but never had someone tell me what to read... so the books I read were just books that I found at the library... not the classics. I shake my head at my younger self.
Please Like Me and Love Sick on Netflix had me laughing my head off.
Love me some artsy films and pretending to notice things that a director has chosen to include. Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Six60 music and anything Kiwi makes me weak at the knees.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cared for twin two year old boys for 11 months.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am learning that to learn requires me to be wrong or make a mistake and to be vulnerable. Also learning that pride kills learning new things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love washing dishes with others, and listening to stories. I can offer myself as a no stress traveller. But maybe give me a kick up the bum if I look like I will be late to the bus or train. I have a problem with talking too much when I am supposed to be leaving. Something my dad did all the time when we were young. It annoyed the heck out of us but... hey, we are alive and well.
