Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined years ago when I moved to Taiwan and met some delightful people. Then I drifted away from Couchsurfing for a while before I really got started. Now I just moved to the Bay Area after working as a Cycle Tour Guide all around Europe for 4 years, and I'm enjoying the opportunity to be in one place and get to know it.

Interests

friends, food, pleasant flights (a very rare breed), music, soccer, languages, books, walks to anywhere, outdoor pursuits (hiking, biking), truly great cities, taking pictures that I always wish were better, bloody marys and extremely well-done salty dogs

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sighting a giant anteater and a bushmaster snake in the Bolivian Amazon, climbing a live volcano in Chile, the most gorgeous rugged beaches in Western Australia

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak Spanish, so I'd be happy to participate in a language exchange with a native speaker wanting to brush up on their English or practice with someone trying to keep their Spanish skills up.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I just moved to the Bay (I live in Oakland) so I'm always checking out new places and acting like a tourist in my own city. There's a lot to see in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Napa, etc. Happy to have someone join who's equally curious about the Bay Area.
