About Me

ABOUT ME

I find this part the most difficult to fill in, so I'm afraid you'll have to come and meet me to find out ;)

PHILOSOPHY

'We look up at the same stars, the same sky is above us all, the same universe encompasses us. What difference does it make which system each of us uses to find the truth? It is not by just one route that man can arrive at so great a mystery.' - Quintus Aurelius Symmachus

Interests

Ancient History (especially Egypt), history of religion, especially development of early Cristianity and ist connentions with other near-eastern religions; Napoleonic Wars
Arthurian Legends
Literature (mainly history books, fantasy and sci-fi)
Games (rpg, startegy, action and adventure)
Cinema in general, but mostly I enjoy fantasy and history films.
Languages. I especially find myself drawn to the dead ones and ones with pictorial writing system, but I also enjoy learning modern ones as well. I love listening to Chinese but I can't bring myself to start learning it systematically :(
Writing
Cooking (especially baking)
Oh and one more thing: I love dragons. Everything that involves dragons: books, art, films, games, jewellery, wherever dragons are involved, You have been warned.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: my favourite authors: George R.R. Martin, Naomi Novik, Jan Assmann, Kelley Armstrong and J. R. R. Tolkien. Recently became a fan of Scott Lynch and his brilliant Locke Lamora series.
Music: mainly rock and metal, but I like folk and classical music as well
Movies: anything by Tim Burton, most movies with Ewan McGregor. I enjoy every genre, but i suppose my favourites are history, fantasy and sci-fi. All time favourite film: Big Fish, no doubt there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, the most amazing thing I've done so far was a 16-day trip up the Nile, especially visiting tombs and temples with absolutely no tourists in them. The best 16 days in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I suppose I can teach people a little bit about Egyptian hieroglyphs.
I can also teach some Polish recipes and I guess Polish language.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
