About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just me and some friends from college, always on the look for adventure, maybe one day we will find the roadtrip of our lives.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 20 old Belgian student in economics, who has finished up a bachelor in business engineering this summer. I have lived all my life in Belgium, 7 years in Dendermonde, a little regional city, most famous for it's "Ros Beiaard". A festival held every ten years where our town's culture is displayed (worth checking out). I moved at the age of 8 to Kortrijk, in West-Vlaanderen. It's a medium-sized city, very interesting to live in. We have a good bunch of cultural activities here, since the city was founded during Roman times and thrived in the late medieval ages.

I spent most of my time at school these days, if I'm not at school I'm probably at home or out to train for my favourite hobby, volleyball. I'm kind of sporty, have been playing volleyball for 16 years now, I also know the basics of tennis and occasionally enjoy some fitness.

I graduated last year in music, studied clarinette, classical music studies. And know I'm trying to learn the basics of guitar (be my guest if you know something to help me out).

PHILOSOPHY

You always have to keep moving, life is all about opportunities. Picking and choosing is living, doubting is standing still and running in circles.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, we are monitoring this trend from afar, because we would like to set up a big road trip through Europe in the upcoming summer of 2016, or maybe earlier around spring.

Music, Movies, and Books

Fantasy, non-fiction books and movies.

Jazz, rock, house and electro are my main musical intrests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- 3 times national finals in beachvolleyball (all silver sadly)
- Seeing all of ancient Egypt and at the same time having the chance to talk to strangers and hear their opinion about the Islamic Revolution, best trip of my life.
- Experiencing life for a full 6 months in the Russian capital, Moscow.

Teach, Learn, Share

Most of all I enjoy experiencing wanderlust at its best, so being able to just roam around the city and feel the vibe is most important to me. Hosts that would love to take me out sightseeing would be an absolute dream to me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a mediocre cook, but I can get food on a plate. I'm also a big deep house lover and a music addict in general, while mostly excelling in very weird and non-popular genres. So maybe I can show you some unusual songs or we could listen to some unique music together. I have also been training children for years now to learn volleyball, so if my hosts are ever up for a small game we can always go out and play a couple of rounds. I also know some brief culture and history of my own country and region, can do moderate level finances - if need ever be, but let's hope not - and in general can tell you about my prior travel experiences and living abroad for months.

Countries I’ve Visited
