Overview
About Me
My name is Brandon Adams, I live in Encinitas, CA and have just graduated High School and plan on attending the University of California, Santa Cruz in the fall. I have lived in a small beach town my whole life and for that reason I have a natural draw to the beach and love for the ocean. I enjoy surfing and spending time with my friends while relaxing on our countless beaches that line the coast. I'm very grounded and well-spoken and have a good idea of where I want to go in life. I'm very laid back and easy going, but can be spontaneous and ready to tackle any challenge. I have also played soccer my life whole life and plan to continue to play in college at the club level. I get along well with others and am excited to take on all the adventures that life has to offer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am Couch surfing because before I attend UCSC in the fall, I am backpacking through Europe with my cousin for the summer. Coming straight out of High School and low-paying jobs, we are both naturally on a tight budget and cannot afford to stay in hotels and many hostels. Our lack in funds pointed us toward the idea of Couch surfing and the opportunity to meet new people in an extraordinary way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The summer before my Senior Year I decided to participate in some community service and help those less fortunate than myself. I decided to volunteer through a program called GLA (Global Leadership Adventures), an organization which teaches young people the values of leadership and the importance of teamwork through community service and group activities. With volunteer options around the globe, I decided to take a chance and do something that I have never done before, and volunteered in the Dominican Republic. The two weeks I was there, building water bottle schools and building greenhouses, drastically opened up my eyes to the world and made me realize that there is so much more to the world then we are taught in school. I was very humbled by my trip and have become a better person because of my experience. I made life-long friends and will never forget the incredible adventure I had while there.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share the culture and experiences I have had from my hometown in San Diego, California, as well as my adventures from volunteering in the Dominican Republic. I would love to share my experience growing up and what life is like as a young adult about to take on the busy world.
