About Me
I'm a newly graduated sound engineer and all around media enthusiast looking to travel and explore as much as I can before I tuck into a job or start my own company.
I have a huge passion for music, game design, art and film. I play piano and compose my own music, and aspire to one day feature on big films and productions as the composer and sound designer for them. Gaming has also played a big part in my life, and has been something I grew up with and that helped bond me with my brothers. It is one of my favorite past-times and is what I do to just forget about the world for an hour.
I am a very hard-working person, as my father taught me that if you're going to do something, do it to the best of your abilities. I constantly fight off my perfectionist streak, but I find it helps me to do well in my work! I'm very conscientious of others, and also of myself, and so I try to look after my health and well-being daily. I gym frequently and eat as organically as possible. I grew up with Ulcerative Colitis, a chronic affliction of the colon, and so developed a healthy regime as a result.
There are many nooks and crannies in my personality that you'll only discover after you sit down with me over coffee and we chat about life and politics and religion. For instance, I love coffee way too much. I also have a deep appreciation for Japanese history and culture. Two of my favorite composers of all time are Japanese.
I look forward to meeting people with a completely different upbringing and outlook on life!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I found about couchsurfing through a friend from college who would often host people from abroad at his place. I thought it was such an amazing thing to do out of your heart (and pro deo) that I really wanted to host too! Unfortunately my place was not fit to host anyone other than myself.
I'm travelling to California this year in August, and hope to travel soon after again to other places worldwide (Japan is my number one tourist destination). I think couchsurfing is not only a way to save money on accommodation while travelling, but is a great way to meet people and learn about the surroundings and culture of the country you're in. That's mainly why I'm using couchsurfing!

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a lot of Soundtracks from movies and games and anime, also a plethora of genres ranging from jazz to hip-hop to house to dupstep. I enjoy many of the sophisticated electronic genres such as future bass and MIDI-maximilism.
In terms of movies, I really enjoy comedies. Anchorman 1 and 2 made my cry on multiple occasions. Will Ferrell is a god among men. I also enjoy animated movies, especially the ones with deeper hidden meanings and themes, such as inside out.
My favorite author is Paulo Coelho. After I read the Alchemist, I knew that his books would teach me and inspire me to be a better person.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed all the way through the Cango Caves even though I'm really claustrophobic.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very computer literate and technologically aware. I can teach anyone who has trouble in these areas! I also have up to grade 5 in music theory. So I can teach you how to write your own music in a practical way.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with hosts some insight into South Africa and its history, its food, culture, what it's like to be in such a diverse country. I can also impart all my skills to the hosts, helping them with whatever they could need from me. Media management, music lessons (haha), possibly even handy work around the house - I'm good with my hands.
