Overview
About Me
I'm Brandon. I'm a student of architecture at the University of Tennessee. I grew up in Alabama and live in Tennessee. My favorite thing to do is walk a city's streets to understand how it was designed, how and why it was built, and to understand the relationship of the buildings to the city itself. I love to travel and experience cultures because I think it's important to understand how people live, learn, and play. It helps me as a designer and as a person.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to experience something new. I love to stay in hostels/b&b's to meet new people, but a resident of whatever city I'm visiting can probably give me better advice and recommend things that a tourist wouldn't particularly know.
I'm studying abroad in Spring of 2017 so my plan is to fly into Dublin and couch surf to Krakow, Poland!
Interests
I love to hike. I live a half hour from the Great Smokey Mountain National Park so it's easy drive for a good day hike or even a few days worth of backpacking. I grew up on a lake in Alabama so I love all kinds of water sports, water skiing in particular. Knoxville has a really amazing greenway system so I like to bike it.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is honestly all over the place. I can go from listening to Boston to David Bowie to Jay Z in one playlist. I'm not a big movie buff, but I like Star Wars, HP, anything by Wes Anderson, and architecture documentaries.
A few of my favorite architects are Louis Kahn, Peter Zumthor, Mies van der Rohe, Hector Guimard, Charles and Ray Eames, Santiago Calatrava, and the late Zaha Hadid.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've done is hike the Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu. It was something I had always dreamed of doing and I did it!
