Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Brandon. My dad calls me little pig. No one else does. I grew up in the Bay Area but moved to Boston for undergrad, graduate school, and stayed to teach there for 2 years. I moved to San Diego in August because it's really cold in New England and no one warned me of that. I am an engineering teacher at an elementary school in the San Diego area. Basically that means I spend my time building robots, constructing roller coasters, optimizing play dough formulas, and soldering up new contraptions with Kindergarteners though 5th graders.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To travel the world and meet new people. I have a tattoo on my right forearm from a poem by Shel Silverstein called "Invitation." It's my constant reminder of all the stories that people have to tell that I hope to learn about.
Interests
I love to cook. I'm a bit snobby about it. But I'm working on that. I also like to rock climb. I'm not snobby about that at all.
Languages. Trying to learn all 6000 of them before I die.
Oh, and talking educational philosophy/pedagogy. Could do that for days.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I am an avid baker. I will gladly share my secrets for the world's best oatmeal raisin cookie (the main points are aggressive spices, toasting the oats/pecans, and a butter to everything else ratio that one might find excessive).
