Overview
About Me
Love the outdoors, travelling to new places and meeting interesting people. I started college as a philosophy major in Boulder, Colorado and came out a mining engineer from the University of Arizona in Tucson. I later became a civil engineer, consultant, entrepreneur and then a real estate investor. Had 3 amazing kids. Love to explore people, places, ideas and cultures. I get bored easily doing the same thing twice and always like to try things new and different.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling to different places and immersing myself in the local culture. I enjoy meeting and learning from people from different places and backgrounds. I don't think I have ever stayed at someone's house without taking away something new I wanted to incorporate into my own life.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Reggae, blues, some classic rock, some top 40, some country, some hip hop...really just about any kind of music as long as it fits my mood at the moment. Movies... everything from Jim Carry movies to black and white classics (I have no idea how they made them so interesting with zero special effects, violence or sex, but they did!) A couple movies that stand out are Good Will Hunting and Secretariat (don't ask me why). I like reading auto/biographies (most recently Lincoln, Mandela, Gandhi, Jobs, Unbroken), fiction (just read Alchemist and Eleven Minutes by same author) and some spy/warfare novels; Marcus Aurelius Meditations; Seneca's Letters; anything by Ralph Waldo Emerson; Why We Sleep; Map of Consciousness Explained; Who Not How.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Getting a rodeo team scholarship for bull riding in college, traveling several times around the country by motorcycle, hiking Machu Picchu, catching a shark in the Gulf.
Teach, Learn, Share
Paleo cooking (well maybe mostly eating), data science, investing in real estate and automating small businesses (I know it sounds boring, but a lot of people seem to want to know about it, as in 4-Hour Work Week stuff).
What I Can Share with Hosts
Interesting conversation, consideration, a positive attitude, someone to have fun and hang out with for a day or two outdoors, in clubs, at local events or whatever.
Countries I’ve Visited
Andorra, Chile, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Spain, United Kingdom
