About Me

“Helping others is the secret sauce to a happy life.” This is one of my favourite quotes I try to stick by daily!

I'll be travelling across Spain and Portugal for about 2 weeks and while it will be great to travel again, the thought of it is already making me miss my cat, Pepper! I love all sports and being outdoors, in the sun whether it's on a hike or swimming at a beach. I also enjoy (metta) meditation and yoga to connect with my body and mind more deeply.

I've previously studied abroad at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. The city and country easily won my heart and rekindled my love for travelling, so much so that I decided to keep travelling in Europe once my exchange in South Africa had finished.

From my experiences travelling in South Africa and around the world, I've seen the distinct perspectives that people from varying backgrounds have. More importantly, I saw and felt the need to understand those differences to unite people through common grounds they didn't think existed. I love to travel because it has continuously exposed me to positive and unique experiences that expand my outlook on the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I see CS as a great way to meet and connect with other people and gain a more authentic and genuine experience of a place. By connecting and building meaningful relationships with locals, I've had the most amazing experiences, ones I could never obtain as a tourist travelling alone.

I am constantly amazed by other people, their works and their thoughts. From my trips to Africa, North and South America, Asia and Europe, I've seen so much and my view on life has changed for the better. I've met the most amazing people through Couchsurfing and other forms of CS and for that I am very grateful and excited for more thrilling experiences in the future as hearing the extraordinary stories of others has inspired me to go and chase my dreams.

I hope to offer the same in return for visitors to Sydney and meet people travelling from all around the world while I'm living from home. This would be great as I can experience some of the fantastic benefits of travelling whilst in my own home!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Went on an amazing last-minute adventure with a CS host and his friend, who I had both just met. In the middle of the night, we climbed a mountain to some castle ruins just outside of Cologne and camped overnight to wake up for an amazing sunrise!!

- Wild camping in Namibia at a picnic spot on the side of the road. My friends and I were later joined by local workers at the national park. We were initially nervous as they approached the same picnic spot. They proceeded to make a fire, cook food and party! We eventually joined their celebrations, which turned out to be a bachelor party! We had the most amazing night with drinks and food combined with the most amazing sunset I had seen in Southern Africa. More importantly, what I loved the most was how welcoming and generous they were towards us.

- Bungy jumping off Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa + scuba diving and surfing in Cape Town.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - Would love to offer insights into the places I've lived and visited and my overall experiences abroad.

Learn - Would love to learn other languages, gain insights into other cultures, and improve my cooking skills by learning a local dish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer great conservations and a willingness to always try new things. I will gladly help with cleaning and will always clean up after myself.

I can also offer help with cooking. Although I am not the best cook, I am interested in becoming a better cook and learning recipes from others. What better way to learn and experience the local culture than by learning how to cook a local dish?!

I can also offer insights into the amazing countries that I have travelled to!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, England, Fiji, France, Germany, Indonesia, Mozambique, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam, Zambia, Zimbabwe
