Présentation
À propos de moi
I have lived in B.C. my whole life, and the majority of my exploring has been here.
From the Central Interior, to northern B.C. and back, I have camped and hiked along rivers and lakes and seen the beautiful nature this country has to offer.
Living on Vancouver Island the last three years has shown me some of the most awe-inspiring moments of my life (so far) and for anyone reading this thinking of coming here: Do it! I think I will always come back here.
Right now I am in a small town called Jordan River. I spent this last summer here building a house for a friend, and now I am living in a small cabin (10x14). When we werent working we were having great times outdoors, wakeboarding, whale watching, hiking and swimming, etc.
I am still working in the area, building houses for my neighbors. This community is full of amazing people, and working with them is so rewarding I can't begin to describe it.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I haven't done much international travel, but a friend once told me (And i'm sure this is a famous quote) "Live like a tourist and travel like a local." Some people may take the traveling advice to heart, but for me, "Living like a tourist" has stuck with me more than the latter.
In an effort to keep this short and sweet I wont get into specifics, but Jordan River is a wonderful place, with lots of visitors. 90% of those visitors drive through/stop in and have no idea what they are missing out on. I would love to spend time with people and show them the hidden graffiti artwork in the woods, the swimming pools, catching crab, picking Chanterelles... (Oh yeah, short and sweet)
Similarly, I would like to connect with like-minded people while I am travelling.
While writing this, I am new to couchsurfing, and I hope it lives up to my expectations!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
September 2016 - An 8-day camping trip to Raft Cove Provincial Park with 3 of my friends (And Frank)
Frank and I loaded up his canoe, my SUP board, our tents (My Hennessy Hammock), a few gallons of vodka and enough food for a week. Then we hit the road (10 hours driving) to Winter Harbor.
We camped at Grant Bay the first night where our friends Cole, Ty, and Julian had already arrived. We drove to a trail, put our boats and gear in the river, and floated 2 hours to Raft Cove.
The next few days we spearfished lingcod and sole, caught Coho, and trapped one lonely Dungeness crab we named Bart. Other than bacon eggs and coffee, we didnt eat anything we brought with us.
The day that we had scheduled to leave we woke up first thing and started building a wood-fired hot tub on the beach across the river. We stacked logs, lined it with sand and tarps, built a fire and ran water through a copper coil into the tub from a nearby stream. By the time the water was warm enough to get in the sun was setting and we decided to stay another day.
