About Me

Hi all! I am an enthusiastic and fun-loving person with a passion for traveling and meeting new friends. I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and majored in Hospitality Management. My dream is to start my own boutique hotel or hostel. You can see me out and about spending time with friends, taking photos/video, tasting new cuisine, flying planes, or anything else that sounds like fun. I also recently got married!

I work as a Hotel General Manager and recently moved back to the Midwest from SF and love to provide friendly hospitality! I’m shy at first but slowly open up as we chat more and more. While I’m not able to host right now, I hope to still meet people from across the globe and experience the world through the stories of others. I want to continue to make memories even if my vacation days are limited now. We can always learn from one another, and I'd be happy to show you around this city I now call home!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am using Couchsurfing to explore new cultures and meet people along the way. I hope to connect and expand my views and beliefs while going on once-in-a-lifetime trips! Through my experiences and the individuals I have met through the site thus far, it has made my trip go from good to great. Whether a local or another traveler, spending time with others truly has been unbelievable. Experiencing the culture is an important aspect to me when traveling, and I believe this would give me a wonderful opportunity to experience everyday life. My goal is to leave a positive impact with every person I have the chance to meet during my travels, no matter how big or small.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I grew up listening to and appreciating all genres of music. If I do not have time to find new music and artists, you will see me listening to more pop, rock, and indie. However, I always enjoy finding the next big fame whether it is in jazz, EDM, alternative, etc.

Movies: Pitch Perfect, Despicable Me, Moana, Coco, and Mulan. In other words, musicals and animated kid movies are my jam and favorites!

Books: I recently gained a new love for nonfiction. Being out of school, I aspire and want to continue educating myself through books to make myself a more well-rounded individual.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During Spring 2015, a group of students and I traveled to New York City for a service trip. We served in the rebuilding of Hurricane Sandy and did a variety of work such as removing mold or chipping away plaster. The individual we served happened to be a Holocaust survivor, and it was a truly humbling experience to be able to assist him in rebuilding his business.

When I visited Vietnam, I also rode a motorbike for the first time ever and rode over 100 kilometers to a new city with a fellow American I met in my hostel the night before!

I just finished a five month trip traveling through 17 countries in Europe, Asia, and South America!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Growing up biracial in the United States within an American culture, I hope to share my experiences with hosts from living here in addition to hearing their stories and how they compare. Serious or funny, it would be a wonderful time to learn more about each other and leave with a better understanding of each culture. Moreover, with every trip I take, I would also love to share the memories I have made and what I have been able to take away.
