About Me
Hello! I'm Brandon, originally from the US though I've been living mostly in Germany the last years. I've been lucky enough to study at universities in Argentina and Thailand as well, and during that time I was able to see a lot of the world. I'm a bit of an "old soul", I like chill people but am always down for a spontaneous adventure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It seems like a cool way to get to know people in different places. In a hotel or a hostel you are stuck with people who are also just passing through - which can also be fun, but I like the idea of a bit more cultural exchange when possible.

Teach, Learn, Share
Gandalf was a student of the Valar Nienna, whose godly ability was to turn sorrow into hope and wisdom. Gandalf's role in Middle Earth not to lead the battle against evil but to inspire its inhabitants to become capable of combating evil themselves, hence his job description was something akin to an "angel of hope". Therefore, when the Fellowship of the Ring arrives in Lothlorien and Celeborn states that "without Gandalf, hope is lost" he is speaking very literally: the party has lost the incarnation of hope that had been guiding them.
