Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, in a town just north of San Francisco. I love the wilderness and being in the outdoors. I was a Boy Scout throughout pretty much my entire childhood. I am easygoing and flexible in regard to pretty much anything.
I graduated from college in Oregon with a degree in Environmental Science and Spanish. For the past few months, I was working as a baker for a cooperative.
My personal philosophy for life is being open minded and accepting of other peoples and cultures. Happiness is key and laughter is the best medicine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and involving myself in other communities and cultures that I can only experience authentically through immersion. Programs like Couchsurfing provide a unique opportunity to explore different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite Books: Lord of the Rings/the Hobbit, A Sand County Almanac, Harry Potter, Desert Solitaire, Siddhartha, A Song of Fire and Ice Series, His Dark Materials Series, the Hunger Games, Walden, Chronicles of Narnia, and American Gods.
Favorite Movies/TV Shows: Lord of the Rings/the Hobbit, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Rick and Morty, Archer, Spirited Away, the Dark Knight Trilogy, Indiana Jones, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and anything Pixar.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my favorite experiences was a two week backpacking trip in the northern forests of New Mexico! I saw a few bears, learned the basics of smithing, and also participated in a hoedown in a barn in the middle of the wilderness. It was a lot of fun, somewhat trying at times, and through it all, I discovered new things about myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
My experience and education has given me an expansive outlook on environmental and social issues, and I am also passionate about outdoor activities and working in the kitchen. As a result, I am very open to teaching people different outdoors skills as well as how to make breads and pie.
