Overview
About Me
I'm a Spanish teacher who wants to learn as much about the world as possible. I live for good food, music/culture, language study, travel, and reading.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a teacher of Spanish, I have a passion for cultural exchange. I want to familiarize myself with as many languages and cultures as possible, but I want to learn about the world through more than just a computer screen. For me, CouchSurfing is the perfect way to get out there and learn through lived experiences.
Interests
I'm interested in anything that involves music, languages, visual art, or other cultures. Open minded and LGBTQ friendly as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'm a huge nerd for contemporary musical theatre. Dave Malloy's score for Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 is my personal favorite. Other musicals I love include Fun Home, Hadestown, Spring Awakening, Hamilton, Godspell, and RENT. Outside of musical theatre I listen to some French pop and Brazilian Funk.
Movies/TV: I love anything that's colorful and makes me feel intense emotions. Recent favorites include "I, Tonya" and "Coco." As for TV, I really enjoyed "Casa de Las Flores", "Jane the Virgin", and "Sex Education".
Books: I generally read contemporary fiction that deals with global conflict, LGBT themes, and social justice. Some of my favorites novels include "Tell The Wolves I'm Home" by Carol Raifka Brunt, "Mornings in Jenin" by Susan Abulhawa, "Daytripper" by Fabio Moon/Gabriel Bá, "The Poet X" by Elizabeth Acevedo, and "The Heart's Invisible Furies" by John Boyne.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I studied abroad in Chile for a semester and had the trip of a lifetime. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching is something I do every day! I'm more than happy to practice Spanish with you and talk about all the struggles/rewards of teaching a language to teenagers.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a patient person who likes to get to know all different kinds of people. I'm understanding of house rules and will never try to disrespect your personal boundaries. Upon request I'm happy to have a conversation about theatre, music, books, and other nerdy things.
