Overview
About Me
I'm a recently graduated mechanical engineer who loves rock climbing, slacklining, playing guitar, and other music things. I host a podcast called Things You Can Hear With Your Ears with a friend, and at my core, I'm a creator - I always have things I want to make, be it music, robots, programming, screenplays, whatever!
I live with Heidi, my partner, who is also a recent mechanical engineering grad. She is also on couchsurfing as Heidi Johnson from Edmonton (on my friends list)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We're planning on travelling overseas for the first time in September 2015 and are planning on doing some couchsurfing to meet people and experience places in a more intimate way. We'd like to get a feel for couchsurfing and meet people at home first though, so we'll likely be hosting people throughout the summer.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music varies widely based on mood, but for the most part is wavers between electronic music (chilled out and dance), indie rock, and hip hop. Probably more instrumental stuff than most people. I can't choose all-time favourites, but I'll name MUTEMATH, Scale the Summit, Run the Jewels, and Bonobo.
We're also into a lot of Canadian indie music!
I don't watch a lot of movies. I like the kind-of-suspenseful with a great twist ending movies though. Most recently, The Illusionist and The Usual Suspects.
Comedies are always welcome too, I really like comedy.
I switch back and forth between non-fiction and fiction books. I'm currently reading Freakonomics, but books that come to mind are His Dark Materials series, 1984, The Millenium Triology, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dangled my feet off the edge of a 600 m cliff at Preikestolen in Norway!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning and teaching! I'll learn more or less whatever I can. I can teach you how to play guitar, some recipes I like, how to record music/audio, anything physics/engineering/math related.
If you stay with us, we can show you the city and take you to restaurants, farmer's market, whatever! (schedule pending)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would be happy to cook for you in return for letting me stay at your place. I've dabbled in a lot of different skills so I can probably teach you something, and sharing conversation and stories is always welcome!
