About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Become a cultural and social scholar, as both vocation and hobby.
ABOUT ME
I have two passions: music and literature. I pursued the former in Los Angeles professionally for a few years before deciding to keep it an amateur's hobby, and just finished pursuing the other at UC Berkeley. I love reading, writing, and playing guitar. I also enjoy talking about philosophy, politics, and religion, and enjoy beverages such as whiskey, wine, and beer. I'm a photography hobbyist as well, though I haven't gone out to take photos in a while. I also love the outdoors. I love hiking, camping, backpacking, and rockclimbing. And, of course, I love to travel. I try to make it a point to go somewhere international once a year. I love living in the San Francisco Bay area: really earthy, genuine people who share my worldview, but challenge it enough to keep me open-minded.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life fully, respectfully, and thoughtfully.
Interests
traveling (duh), outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping, rockclimbing, snowboarding, music, photography, reading, wine, whisky, beer, and just hanging out with people having a good time.

Music, Movies, and Books
Memento, Doubt, Sideways, Batman Begins, and There Will Be Blood. Jazz, Jam Rock, Grunge rock, Folk, Jazz-Funk influenced Hip-Hop; for example, John Scofield, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Wes Montgomery, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Tool, Sting, Ray LaMontagne, Damien Rice, Swell Season, Soulive, The Roots, Guru. Since I'm an English major, it's pretty hard to narrow down my favorite books, but the most influential ones have been Fahrenheit 451, End of Faith, King Lear, The Waste Land, The Remains of the Day, Huckleberry Finn, and Paradise Lost. I also wrote a thesis paper on Langston Hughes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Zuchspitz in the German Alps is breathtaking. Stonehenge rivals it. I also loved Edinburgh and the Scottish Highlands.
