Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
I climbed several alps before I was a teenager. I've died, twice, in Turkey, and stayed in a couple of Turkish hospitals. I've driven across all of Route 66 and raced in a pro drag racing car. I try to keep things interesting!
Insegna, impara, condividi
Some random history facts based on places I've been.
Did you know the largest cavalry charge took place in Vienna, Austria? 20,000 Polish And German cavalry charged the field against the Ottoman Turks at the final hour of battle to claim a victory.
The walls of Istanbul (Constantinople) were only successfully breached one time in 1000 years; during an earthquake. It wasn't until the largest cannon ever constructed was used that the walls were breached, in 1453.
Heidelberg Germany was home to a ruler with perhaps the best title ever: the Winter King, Frederick V. He was called this not because he was cold or loved winter, but because he ruled for only a single winter before being deposed.
London was built on the site of a great Roman victory against the British Celts. Some say that the bottom of the Thames still has ancient weapons buried below it; thrown in by devout Celts as sacrifices to the Water God for a victory that never came!
