About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Graduate School - Doctor of Pharmacy Candidate - Year Three
ABOUT ME
Thanks for taking a look at my CS profile. In 2012, I made some major changes in my life. I had been working in the beer business as a brewer, chemist, and microbiologist for the past 13 years in Portland, Oregon. After my last company (of 12 years) unravelled and morphed from a locally owned business into another soul-less corporation, it was time for me to make a personal change in my life and career which ultimately led to applying to Graduate School as a Doctor of Pharmacy Candidate.
I am now finishing year three of a four year Doctor of Pharmacy program in the SF North Bay.
My Current schedule is M-F early to late.
When I'm not studying/working and have some free time I love to adventure tour and dirt ride motorcycles when the sun's out and it's spring, summer, or fall. I just completed an incredible 37 day tour to Alaska and Prudhoe Bay this past June/July 2012 on my KTM950 motorcycle with my best mate from Oregon.
My current schedule is very intense with long hours and long weeks this third year. I may not always have the time or the schedule to host. Thanks for understanding.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is too short for cheap beer and bad coffee :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since joining CS in 2008, I have concentrated on hosting CS'ers at our home in Portland, Oregon. I especially enjoy hosting fellow motorcycle travelers through CS. I have had a few chances to surf over the years, but my best experience was surfing in Antwerp, Belgium and meeting the incredible CS community there. That experience just blew my mind.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had some amazing CS experiences over the years hosting, but my experience surfing across Europe in Sept 2011 was just magical. I've made some amazing friends via CS and still keep in touch.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book series of the last few years was by far the Millenium Series by Steig Larson (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). I still very much prefer the Swedish films from this series. There is an excellent extended version of the swedish films on Netflix I highly suggest! We are serious film freaks and even built an amazing home theater in our Portland home. I sure miss it I have an eclectic taste in music and a large MP3 album collection I've amassed over the past 10 years.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've ridden a motorcyle to the Alaskan Arctic and traveled to Prudhoe Bay Alaska three times since 2001. The Haul Road and the Alaska Arctic wilderness is the most incredible place I've ever traveled to. If you ever do stop by, I may pull out my Alaska 2012' Slideshow!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I do like to cook. I have my 2003 pellet BBQ with me.
A meal with friends is just the best.
I have limited knowledge of the Napa/Sonoma area and would be happy to share wine /beer suggestions or where to get out and hike.
The back roads of Napa/Lake County are really good motorcycle riding.
