About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the US first and then the World in search of kindred souls with a world view. To search and find a place and a community to eventually share in a sustainable living community.

ABOUT ME

As I grow and learn what my life is all about, I do so in relationship with others. So many great people have graced my life. Looking to see who might be next. In my 50+ years I have experienced a lifetime: cross country bicycle trip; lived several places including the Caribbean; traveled Europe; played lots of great sports; read great books; had incredible conversations; watched wonderful movies; drank great wine; tasted great foods; and contemplated interesting life perspectives. To me, a life well lived is to appreciate the sensuality of it all--the five senses that our modern science tells us of and the other senses that yet go unexplained. I love a good outdoor experience--hiking, biking, fly fishing, camping--and the great exercise and peace it can offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Early participation was in some of the Couch Surfing get-togethers here in Denver -- some happy hours and a regular gathering for Dinner. Good people, good food, and great conversation. In November 2010 I went to Sacramento for a Housesitting gig. My first Couch Surfing experience on the way back to Denver in the Spring was a quick, but very successful one. Since then I took a trip to Portland and did some Couch Surfing out there with a wonderful host. As of recent, I've hosted here in Denver a couple of times. It's been great!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In November 2010 I went to Sacramento for a Housesitting gig. My first Couch Surfing.org experience was on the way back to Denver in the Spring was a quick, but very successful one. Then I followed up a year or so later with a trip to Portland, OR. Had a wonderful Couch Surfing experience out there.

In addition, but not within the Couchsurfing.com network, I have had many couch surfing experiences. First when out of college and living in Chicago I travelled to Europe and based myself out of an apartment in Amsterdam hosted by some great people. Traveled for a couple of months - within The Netherlands, France, Belgium, and Switzerland. Spent the last couple of days on the beaches of South of France. Wonderful time and I met so many great people.
Also, rode a bicycle from Seattle to Denver back in 1993. I was a spontaneous guest of people who'd I'd met along the way.

Interests

Mountain biking, hiking, inline skating, camping, fly fishing, eating wonderful foods, cooking for others, great movies, interesting art/theater/music, learning of other cultures/people, self-sufficiency, microgreen and sprout farming, metaphysics, quantum physics, epigenetics, paranormal, and UFOs. One of my favorite lines from a Shakespeare play, "There are far more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

Music, Movies, and Books

Like many kinds of music as long as the music is kind. i.e., not gangsta rap and hatred, violence filled sounds and lyrics. World music (really love Latin), blues, some electronica with new-agey type messages, classical (develops and heals the mind), etc., etc.
As for movies I love foreign movies (all of Pedro Almadovar films for instance), documentaries, Independent films, and many other. Not a fan of blow'em up Hollywood films, or slasher or horror films. Comedies are great as long as they are not too Hollywood formulaic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rode a bicycle from Seattle to Denver. Also, lived in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands over the winter of 1993.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am learning microgreen and sprouts microfarming. Would like to learn other techniques of self-sufficiency. My goal is to make a wonderful contribution via publishing on the internet, and be able to travel anywhere in the world (that has a decent internet connection).

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
