I’m a Winnipeg girl living in the Okanagan Valley! After my many trips to BC I have finally moved out West and settled in Kelowna with my fantastic boyfriend. I work part time as a nanny, cleaner, and at an emergency youth shelter. When I’m not working I love exploring and hiking the many parks in the Okanagan Valley. My boyfriend and I also have a thing for waterfalls, so we try to visit as many as we can! As a recent relocatee to Kelowna, I love sharing the beauty of the lakes, parks, wineries and city with other visitors 😊

I’m on couch surfing to meet other travellers, host visitors and spread the love of the west coast.

Interests

I work quite a bit, but in my free time I like to go on hikes, eat at fun restaurants or make delicious home cooked meals, try the many choices of local craft beer and wine, swim or relax at the many beaches in the area, and check out museums. Kelowna has lots of historical buildings that I like to check out. Plus there are lots of smaller surrounding towns such as West Kelowna, Penticton, Summerland, Peachland, Lake Country, Oyama etc that have different places to check out within an hour from Kelowna.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music choices range from the likes of Daniel Cesar to the Grateful Dead to Stickybuds. I appreciate all forms of art, especially music. My boyfriend and I have a decent record collection that we avidly use and love showing off. We actually have a large collection of our favourite records, books and DVD’s that we avidly use and love to show off! Including Almost Famous, The Outsiders, The Blues Brothers, and more. Recently we have both finished reading Deal by Bill Kreutzmann, and more recently I have finished reading The Break by Katharine Vermette (GREAT story, highly recommend!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Packed all the belonging I could fit into my little Toyota Yaris and moved 3 provinces away to a city where I barely knew anyone. Best decision ever!

Teach, Learn, Share

Between my boyfriend and I we have a violin, 2 ukuleles, an acoustic guitar, and a few hand drums. I love sharing the art of music with others and can give you quick lessons on any of these instruments! I also fool around with some flow art in the form of hoop play that I can show you, I’m also very open to learning new tricks because I’m still pretty new to it

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a great conversation, restaurant recommendation or a place to crash once my spare bedroom is set up. If I’m not working I would also love to show you all the cool shops and bakeries in downtown Kelowna!
