ABOUT ME
I'm a sociable fire safety engineer but when I was growing up, that used to be different. I used to be one of those weird, shy kids at school.
But as they say, the best wine is aged, and I needed some aging as well. Through some travelling experiences with friends, I started blossoming, but it's only when I really started hanging out with people from abroad that my shell was, well, gone. I've always enjoyed meeting new people, how weird that may sound for a shy person.
I've arrived in Stockholm a few months ago, so my knowledge about the city is rather limited. Still exploring, and I hope that never stops!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never really participated so far in couchsurfing, only indirectly. I got to know about couchsurfing through some friends and started hanging around in the couchsurfing community like that in the city where I live now.
The reason why I never got involved so far is basically because of the international master I did. I met lots of people from all around the world and in that way I always had a place to stay for a night or two :)
We're a year later than the above text, and the story remains similar. Although the collective where I live has hosted quite a few people, it's more through natural interaction of people.
Interests
History, languages and culture can thrill me, although I must admit I'm not the biggest fan of expressionist or modern art (read, a lot later than pop-art). Opera, old movies,...
Science in general
Politics, but I try to keep low on that as I've noticed before that it can easily be touchy.
Lastly, good beer, wine, food is one of my passions, and I love preparing food & brewing beer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
14 days with 1 friend on a survival trip in the Swedish forests, foraging on what we could find.
On a trip in Yosemite national park in the US, seeing a bear cub passing 20 meters in front of our car. When stopping, a good 200 meters further was (what I think) was his mom.
Oh, and I have a good story about Vatican City & me.

If you don't have a flathead screwdriver, a coin usually does the trick.
Don't try to put out an oil fire with water - use a wet cloth and cover the fire.
The integral of exp(1/x) does not have an answer in closed form. (As far as I know).
