My name is Brechtje (I know, it's hard for non-Dutchies), I'm 22 years old and I am currently studying Global project and change management in Zwolle, the Netherlands (in weekends and holidays I'm usually at my parents' house in Eindhoven). Travelling and helping people are my passion, and I will never stop trying to broaden my horizon! I have seen quite a bit of the world already, through volunteering programs and several trips, but my list of countries to visit remains endless. I love baking, my specialty is fondant cakes and my favourite part of making them is flavour testing! Besides that, I enjoy drawing and painting and basically everything crafty.

I am always up for new adventures and meeting new people. Since I already have some experience with 'regular' travelling, I thought it was time to try something new, and couchsurfing is the perfect opportunity! What I think is most interesting about it is to meet locals and get a totally different view on a place than only the tourist side of it. Also, I think it's a really good feeling to be able to help others, so I'm very happy to offer a couch as a way to give back :)

My favourite music is from a Dutch band called Racoon (you should check them out!), I also love Jack Johnson, Ed Sheeran, Jae Jin and many more. I am a sucker for romantic comedies (Alles is familie - which I watched about 13 times, the Bounty hunter, etc) but a drama/thriller/action (love the Hunger Games) can also really get to me. I don't have a single favourite book, but I like reading books that touch me (had to wipe away some tears when I read 'Me before you').

I travelled for 6 months with a backpack through Australia, New-Zealand, Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia. This was the best experience I've had in my life and I wouldn't have missed it for the world (pun intended)!
