关于我

CURRENT MISSION

Explore, adventure, and enjoy every second

ABOUT ME

Well, I am a 24 year old gal who has backpacked for two months around South East Asia and two months in Western Europe in the spring of 2012. For 3 months in the fall/winter of 2014 I backpacked with my current roommate around South America.

Traveling has been the most freeing experience I have ever had. I gained a new found sense of independence and confidence that I struggled to find at home. It creates an inner sense of contentment just to be somewhere new, surrounded by cultures different from my own. Traveling alone allowed me to meet so many people from so many walks of life, and I'm very thankful to have had these opportunities

Philosophy and writing have long since been two of my passions. I always enjoy a good debate and love to get to know about peoples' unique world views. Where these things will take me in terms of a career is still a mystery, but for now I'm enjoying going with the flow.

I like to think of myself as a laid back and adventurous girl, and I'm always up for a good party. Meet me sometime and see for yourself!

PHILOSOPHY

Live for the moment.

Corny as that may be I have it tattooed across my back as a reminder to not let the little things get you down. Approach every experience as something to learn from, and never forget that tomorrow isn't promised so we have to enjoy today.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have yet to be hosted or be a host myself, but I am excited about the prospect. I have met up with a few people thanks to Couchsurfing and that has always been a great experience!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No experience to speak of (yet), but the people I have met that are involved with couch surfing have been the coolest. I think there's nothing better than being shown a city by people who know it; going off the tourist beaten trail a bit.

I can't wait till I have some real experiences of my own to share.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Okay it's very hard to pick one, especially after all my travels, but here it is:
The Burning Man festival
In 2011 I was lucky enough to get a ticket, along with my best friend, to Burning Man. For those who are not familiar with it, Burning man is an arts festival in the middle of the Nevada desert. Every year it hosts about 70, 000 people for a week. The festival is based on ten core principles such as radical self-expression and radical inclusion.
Once you enter the festival there is no exchange of money except for to buy ice or coffee. People are encouraged to 'gift' things. Anything from food to jewelry to artistic knick knacks. Don't mistake this for a music festival, because although there is music, that is far from the pinnacle of Burning Man. It is a very cultural, very spiritual (if you want it to be) experience. The people there are the most interesting I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Ranging from doctors and lawyers in their 50s, to fresh graduates in their 20s, to families with children.
My friend and I went to the festival, not entirely prepared for what we were getting ourselves into. Without trying ten people from Isreal, Spain, and the USA took us under their wings and into their camps. Within a day they were all some of my closest friends I have met.
- since then I have attended again in 2013, and 2015, it's still amazing.
