About Me

I am a MSc student International Land and Water Management with a mission: making people more aware of the impact of water on our lifes. Both divide water as equitable as possible in water scarse areas and defending our cities from the consequences of climate change.
Besides, I have been a volunteer at the NGO Edukans which support education in developing countries and try make Dutch students aware of the fact that the world is bigger then just the Netherlands.

And, whenever possible I want to discover everything and take the adventure, cuz it's better to regret things you did then regret things you did not...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer I went with uni to Spain to do a research on a very special place: Gavarda, a village which was flooded because of a dambreak in 1982. Because the people where afraid of another accident (and because it was not sure whether the dam would be rebuilt) the government decided to built them a new village on the mountain a couple of km away from their old town. Not all inhabitans were happy with this decision and they stayed in the houses their parents build. Many conflicts arose, families are split apart. We made a short movie about the situation and are in the process of trying to get an article published. It was such a special opportunity to get to know the people of both the old and the new village. They opened up, told emotional stories, invited us in their houses and for a short while I felt like they were family.
